Retail sales in Poland increase by 5.5 percent in April, compared with the same period in 2011, according to the Polish Statistics Offcie (GUS). The result has less than expected, however, as market observers predicted as much as 9.2 percent growth in the month of April. Meanwhile, wholesale sales rose 1 percent y-o-y in April, following a 3.4 percent increase reported in March.
