Agency fined retailers RON 8m for price irregularities

6 April 2012

The National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) levied RON 8m in fines last year for irregularities in prices.
One-third of the fines concerned major retailer chains.
The infractions included shelf prices not being displayed, differences between shelf prices and cash register prices, or non-promotions, according to the president of the ANPC Constantin Cerbulescu.
He noted that penalties for such practices can even include temporary store closures.
