Bulgarian car parts manufacturer ZS Europe, part of China’s Shanghai Unison Aluminium Products, is investing nearly EUR 9.7 million in a new high-tech plant, according to the innovation ministry in Sofia.
The facility, which will be located in the Trakia Economic Zone near the second-largest city of Plovdiv, will manufacture aluminium parts for the automotive industry and is expected to create 100 jobs.
“This project is a serious step forward in the development of Bulgarian-Chinese economic relations and the location for its implementation – Plovdiv – has proven to be an attractive centre for investments. This is shown by the four projects that the ministry of innovation and growth certified in 2023 in the region, with a total value of nearly 135 million levs and the creation of over 330 jobs,” caretaker deputy minister of innovation Krasimir Yakimov said.
