The Albanian unit of Hungarian crane manufacturer Gemtech plans to develop a 10 MW solar photovoltaic power plant near the southwestern city of Fier, according to the energy ministry in Tirana.
The solar park will not operate under a concession contract with the government, nor will it benefit from government incentives. The project’s total investment value has been estimated at 4.6 billion Hungarian forints.
The Hungarian Export Development Agency is supporting the project with a grant of 2.53 billion forints. Annual renewable production is projected at 12 GWh.
