One of the most modern office complexes in the Moravian-Silesian region has a new name – GATE Nová Karolina. The investment group RT TORAX Group, which is the owner of this building, has dropped the original name Nová Karolina Park. The building, which houses about thirty companies and employs about two thousand people, is currently fully occupied.
This exceptional building, designed by architects Vít Masl and David R. Chisholm of CMC Architects, is located on Ostrava’s main 28th October Avenue. In its location, but also in its architectural concept, GATE Nová Karolina forms a gateway from the historic city centre to the new Karolina district, which now corresponds with the name GATE itself.
The six-storey building has almost 30,000 m2 of lettable space of the highest office standard, including BREEAM certification, proving the sustainability and environmental friendliness of the building. “The building is fully occupied and we signed the documentation for the last available space earlier this year,” said Tomas Häring, partner and founder of RT TORAX Group. The most important tenants in terms of occupied square metres include ABB, Česká spořitelna, Verizon, Brose and AXA Assistance.
“The building is guarded 24 hours a day and newcomers can use the services of two reception desks. The interior spaces are tailored to the needs of specific tenants and offer a mix of separate offices and shared spaces. Of course, there are also rest and relaxation areas. On the sixth floor, there are two outdoor terraces for tenants and their employees. The building also has its own underground car park with 279 spaces, which is a welcome benefit in view of the parking options in the centre of Ostrava,” said Tomáš Häring.
The GATE Nová Karolina building is located in the heart of the North Moravian metropolis, and its location makes it optimally accessible by car, train and public transport. RT TORAX also plans to exploit the potential of this location in its next high-rise project, the Ostrava Towers Complex, which it plans to build on the neighbouring Slza site. The future architectural form of this complex will include residential parts with apartments, but also offices, a view, a hotel, SPA, congress facilities, restaurants and shops. Ostrava Towers Complex is currently the subject of an international architectural competition.
