Construction production in the Olomouc Region rose to CZK 5.6 billion last year until September

Basic construction production in the Olomouc Region increased by 2.6 percent year-on-year to CZK 5.599 billion from January to September last year. However, it was the fourth lowest compared to other regions, according to data from the Czech Statistical Office. For the whole of 2022, basic construction output in the region rose by about a quarter year-on-year to CZK 7.863 billion thanks to higher civil engineering intensity.

In the Olomouc Region, the value of both civil engineering and building construction increased in the first nine months of last year. The value of civil engineering, which includes the construction of residential and non-residential buildings, rose by 1.9 percent year-on-year to CZK 3.268 billion from January to September. In civil engineering construction, statisticians recorded a 1.7 percent increase in value to CZK 2.174 billion. Civil engineering includes construction and alterations to transport structures, telecommunications, electricity and pipelines, structures for industrial purposes and other engineering works.

Across the country, the value of basic construction output rose by 7.9 per cent to CZK 166.318 billion in the three quarters of last year. Two regions reported a decline. Prague reported the highest value of construction production, at CZK 72.627 billion.
