The Israeli real estate developer AFI Europe will open its first retail park in Romania on 1 November, in the centre of Arad, with a built area of 30,600 sqm.
The shopping centre will have a Carrefour hypermarket (with a leasable area of 5,800 sqm), together with Media Galaxy (3,000 sqm), Starbucks, Cărturești, Decathlon (2,000 sqm), Half Price, CCC, Fressnapf, DM, Smyk and other international brands. A McDonald’s Drive-Thru has already opened in the park in 2022 and a Leroy Merlin DIY store (9000 sqm) in July 2023.
The retail park is located on land with a total perimeter of 79,900 sqm. The gross leasable area (GLA) of the project is 29,400 sqm on one level, served by 950 above-ground parking spaces.
“It gives me great pleasure to announce the inauguration of this ambitious project, which marks a first both for AFI Europe – being our first retail park developed in Romania – but also for the community of Arad, which will enjoy meeting renowned brands, long awaited in their city. We have managed to offer a commercial space designed to the highest standards, so that the people of Arad will enjoy shopping with their family and friends. We were also happy to contribute to the local economy by collaborating with a contractor from Arad – PAB, for the best result,” said Doron Klein, CEO AFI Europe Romania and Czech Republic.
