Zetor Tractors made an after-tax profit of CZK 206 million last year after three years of losses and its sales increased by 20 percent to CZK 2.23 billion, according to their annual report.
The company celebrated its 75th anniversary last year but had to cancel most of the planned events over the pandemic. 2021 also “brought an unprecedented increase in almost all input prices including energy,” the management said in the annual report.
Demand had increased but tractor sales decreased to 1,769 from 1,788 units in 2020 due to supply chain disruptions and the coronavirus crisis, said the report.
Zetor Tractors plans to raise production this year as demand keeps rising. It also wants to implement extensive digitalisation and unify the information system to include the Brno plant at first and later also its foreign branches.
Zetor is the strongest brand in Czechia, however, most of the output is exported. Apart from Slovakia, tractors are also sold in Poland, Lithuania, Ireland, Germany, Britain, France, the USA, and Bulgaria.
