Entrepreneurs who have so far not had the courage or financial resources to take their businesses offline are starting to benefit lately from the support programs that large shopping centers are designing in order to encourage small local businesses to develop.
“In addition to our online store, we have opened a store in Mega Mall. We had an opportunity, we didn’t necessarily intend to continue with a physical store too soon, but the ones from Mega Mall launched an offer for local entrepreneurs, initially through pop-up stores. We signed up, they contacted us, we went on with the discussions and finally we managed to open the store,” said Dorin Ţambrea, an entrepreneur who has a business in the production of backpacks, under the Urban Bag brand.
NEPI Rockcastle launched in March 2021 the “Open: Pop-Up Shop” program, dedicated to local entrepreneurs at the beginning of the road, which offers them commercial space, utility and mobility in shopping malls. Among the developers who have bet heavily on the local component of the occupants in its malls is the Iulius Group.
