Poland: Value of loans from loan companies increased by 43.2% y / y in February

Loan companies provided financing in the amount of PLN 623 million in February (an increase by 43.2% y / y), according to data from the Credit Information Bureau (BIK). The average value of a newly granted non-bank loan in February 2022 was PLN 2,291 and was higher than the average value of a loan granted in February 2021 by 12.3%.

The total sales of loan companies cooperating with BIK amounted to 245.6 thousand. units in numerical terms, which means an increase by 26.8% y / y, it was reported.

In February 2022, 42.3% of the value of newly granted loans was granted by loan companies for amounts exceeding PLN 5,000, which in numerical terms constituted only 10% of sales. 45.4% of the number of financing granted. In terms of value, loans for amounts below PLN 1,000 had a 10.5% share in sales, according the BIK announcement.

Last month, newly granted loans from all amount ranges, both in terms of numbers and value, recorded positive dynamics. The highest positive dynamics in terms of numbers compared to February 2021 was recorded for loans from the extreme ranges: low-value loans up to PLN 500 (+ 40.8%) and high-value loans above PLN 5,000. PLN: (+ 31.5%). In terms of value, the highest dynamics was recorded for loans in the range of over PLN 5,000. PLN (+ 48.0%) and low-value ones up to PLN 500 (+ 42.9%) were also given.
