Furniture imports to Poland increased by 32% y / y in 2021 and amounted to PLN 14.6 billion, according to the estimates included in the “Polskie Meble Outlook 2022” report prepared by B + R Studio commissioned by the Polish Chamber of Commerce of Furniture Manufacturers (OIGPM). This year, an increase in imports is forecasted by approx. 20% y / y to PLN 17.5 billion.
According to the study ‘Polskie Meble Outlook 2022’, we not only export more and more furniture, but also more and more of them from abroad. The authors of the report estimated that in 2021 the value of furniture imports (including furniture elements) to Poland amounted to PLN 14.6 billion. PLN, which means an increase by as much as 32% compared to 2020. Our main supplier is China. The value of imports from this country amounted to EUR 933.6 million (an increase of 52% y / y). The second place was taken by Germany with the result of 668 EUR 2 million (an increase of 20% y / y), according to the report.
Furniture elements are largely sold to our market – their share in furniture imports accounted for 40.4%, and the value amounted to EUR 1.3 billion. When it comes to ready-made furniture, the highest dynamics in import was achieved by upholstered and office furniture, it was also mentioned.
