Mayland Real Estate, the manager of the Krokus shopping center in Krakow, decided to combine the existing lease space and most of the common areas on one of the floors, creating one retail space. Reesco Retail, specializing in building and rebuilding commercial space, was responsible for construction and arrangement works. The total area of works was over 1000 sqm.
Mayland Real Estate decided to adapt the vacant premises and part of the common spaces and increase the commercial space, creating a new sales concept. Thanks to this procedure, a total of over 1000 sqm was created in the form of an open commercial space. Work on the redevelopment of the floor began in August 2021 and lasted for 3 months. The official opening took place on November 19, 2021.
Reesco Retail was responsible, among others, for the technical arrangement of the new space, painting walls and ceilings, laying new tiles and adapting the installation to a new project. A non-standard element in the project was the installation of a special mesh separating the floors, which is to increase the safety of purchases.
“The project at the Krokus shopping center is an interesting idea to revitalize the sales space, and thanks to the use of a large part of the previous passages, also to expand the lease area. Reconstruction involving a significant reconstruction and rearrangement of space as well as a change of functions always brings measurable benefits, because regular customers like to be surprised and will be happy to see what is new in such a non-standardly arranged space,” sums up Lucyna Śliż, Head of Development, Reesco Retail.
CH Krokus is the first shopping center in Krakow, located in the north-eastern part of the city within the Nowa Huta district. Centrum Krokus, together with the adjacent largest Water Park in Poland, the Multikino cinema, and the Obi hypermarket, constitute a comprehensive destination zone for customers. The center has been awarded the BREEAM-in-Use quality certificate with a Very Good rating in the Asset Rating and Excellent in Building Management categories.
