Inditex sales are close to pre-pandemic levels

16 September 2021

The Spanish group Inditex reported a net profit of EUR 1.27 billion in February-July 2021, down 17.5 percent compared to the same period in 2019, although sales are close to the level before the pandemic, due to increased demand for clothing. Between February and July 2020, the retailer had reported losses of EUR 195 million.

Over the next three years, Inditex will invest EUR 900 million annually to accelerate its strategy to focus on large retail stores and online businesses, closing 1,000 to 1,200 smaller stores in 2020 and 2021.

In Romania, at the end of 2018, the Inditex network consisted of 57 stores, with the brands Zara, Pull & Bear, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho, Zara Home and Massimo Dutti.
