BIK: The value of loans granted to micro-entrepreneurs increased by 61.6% y / y in April

Banks granted more loans to micro-entrepreneurs, both in terms of numbers (+ 73.2% y / y) and value (+ 61.6% y / y) in April 2021, announced Office of Credit Information (BIK).

In numerical terms, banks granted by (+ 59.2%) more working capital loans, by (+ 57.2%) more overdraft facilities and by (+ 57.2%) investment loans. It also increased compared to April 2020. the value of granted investment loans by (+ 80.2%), overdrafts by (+ 48%) and working capital loans by (+ 41.3%).

In April 2021, banks granted a total of 12500 loans to micro-entrepreneurs, for the total amount of PLN 1.738 billion, including: investment loans in the amount of PLN 282 million, 4200 working capital loans in the amount of PLN 670 million and PLN 3.7 thousand overdraft facilities in the amount of PLN 491 million. In the period of January-April 2021, banks granted a total of 50.3 thousand zlotys to microenterprises. loans in the amount of PLN 6.494 billion. The decrease in the number of loans granted in this period compared to the corresponding period of 2020 amounted to (-4.2%). The value of granted loans increased by (+ 0.6%).

The April reading of the Microenterprise Loans Quality Index was 4.83% in terms of value. Product Quality Indices in April 2021 were as follows: investment loans 3.05%, working capital loans 10.04% and overdrafts 3 , 29% In April 2021, the general quality index improved (fell) (-0.27) compared to March 2021. The index also improved (fell) compared to April 2020 by (-0, 49) and is at a relatively low level. The main source of stabilization of the quality of the microbusiness loan portfolio in the time of the pandemic were credit moratoria (credit holidays), most of which have already ended, although we do not see a sharp deterioration in the quality of the portfolio. In the case of working capital loans (-0.53) and investment loans (-0.05). Unfortunately, in the case of overdraft facilities, the Index deteriorated by (+0.13).

At 12500 loans granted to micro-entrepreneurs in April this year, 5.7 thous. contracted by service companies (45.5%) and 3.2 thous. commercial (25.7%). In total, 71.2% of loans granted in April 2021 were allocated to these two sectors. Out of the total amount of PLN 1.738 billion, banks granted PLN 614 million (35.3%) loans to companies from the service sector and PLN 504 million (29%) to micro-entrepreneurs conducting commercial activities. The financing of these two sectors accounted for 64.3% of the total value of loans granted in April 2021. In April 2021, the highest y / y increases in the number of loans granted were related to construction financing (+ 81.1%). In the case of trade, the increase was (+ 75.3%), and services (+ 72.1%). The lowest growth was recorded in loans to micro-entrepreneurs from the production sector (+ 64.3%). In terms of value, in April 2021 compared to April 2020, the highest positive dynamics concerned loans from micro-entrepreneurs from the commercial sector (+ 82%) and construction (+ 76.5%).

According to the Quality Index, the worst (the highest level of the index) was the repayment of loans by service companies in April 2021 – the index value amounted to 5.47%. 3.81% Compared to April 2020, the index improved (decreased) in all industries, the most in manufacturing (-0.70). In the last 3 months, the index reading deteriorated (increased) in three industries – the most in services (+0.44) and construction (+0.41), the lowest in trade (+0.14). The index improved only in the manufacturing sector (-0.02).
