Bulgaria’s annual inflation rose by 2% in April

Bulgaria’s consumer prices rose by 2% year-on-year in April following after a 0.6 percent increase in March, according to National Statistical Institute. On a monthly basis, consumer prices grew by 0.7 percent in April, after adding 0.1 percent in the previous month.

The highest annual price rise, of 8.9%, was registered in the transport sector. Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages edged up 0.3% year-on-year. The subindex tracking the other major category – housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, increased 2.9% on the year.
