Daniel Gross, CEO of German retailer Penny, announces a massive plan for Romania, worth EUR 1 billion, for the next seven years. The company wants to reach 600 stores and six warehouses locally. The discounter currently has about 280 units and three warehouses in Romania, with the fourth under construction in Filiaşi. Last year, the retailer opened 20 new stores.
“We have a strategic plan for the next seven years, a plan based on seven pillars of development. We have a budget of EUR 1 billion for Romania in the next seven years, an amount that demonstrates the trust and commitment in the local economy. We want to reach 600 stores and six warehouses”, says Daniel Gross, CEO of Penny Romania.
