Prime Minister Florin Cîţu proposes that restaurants with all vaccinated staff to remain open

21 April 2021

Prime Minister Florin Cîţu said that restaurants that have had all staff vaccinated could remain open, regardless of the incidence rate. The prime minister claimed that after reaching the vaccination threshold of 70 percent, the abandonment of the mask in the public space can also be taken into account. “We also had discussions with restaurants, because they were hit the most during this period. For restaurants, we proposed, it is not a decision taken, we discuss, that if they vaccinate all their staff, they should be open all the time and that they should no longer be related to the incidence rate “, said Florin Cîţu. In his opinion, large companies in Romania should also vaccinate all their staff, so as not to have outbreaks.

He claimed that the first step to relax the conditions is to vaccinate five million Romanians. “If we want to return to normal, we must have this successful vaccination campaign. Five million people vaccinated on June 1 is the first stage in which we can relax. (…) That means 35 percent of the active population “, said Cîţu.
