The Czech Minister of Health Jan Blatny has warned that in view of a new rise in the number of new infections, he could raise the pandemic risk category to Level 5 immediately after the Christmas holiday on December 25. He said the combination of increasing numbers of hospitalized patients and newly discovered cases of Covid-19 could make the move necessary. The move would make illegal groups of more than two people and would require the implementation of a curfew between 9:00 pm and 5:00 am. According to the PES warning system, the country is classified at 76 points out of a worst possible score of 100. The situation in the Prague region is currently less severe, along with the Southern Bohemia and Southern Moravian regions. The worst situation is in the Moravia Silesia region which is currently scoring 90 points.
