According to a survey by CBRE approximately 98% of retail tenants negotiated with property owners to lower rents. The survey states that 90% of these applications were successful, as owners kept long-term cooperation in mind. According to CBRE the reason behind this is the fact that the property owners want to keep their tenants satisfied. One of the problems that has arose for property owners is that many representatives in the retail sector plan to open fewer locations in both the short and long term (27% and 45% respondents respectively).
