The Russian company Mere is expanding to Serbia, with plans to open at least 100 stores with an average area of 1,000 sqm. So far, the company has opened 1,500 discount markets and operates in 10 countries. It will be working directly with manufacturers to establish strict quality control and is aiming to offer prices that are 20 percent lower than average.
Mere is an affiliate of the Russian Torgservis Group, founded in 2009. The company has opened stores in Germany as well as Romania and will be offering some Serbian products. The company plans to expand its business to the Greek market, in addition to Serbia.
