The Czech online retailer Zoot has undergone changes to its ownership structure yet again, the latest move in its return to health. Zoot is owned by Company New, a subsidiary of the Natland financial group which took control of Zoot by buying up its liabilities and restructuring the company after it declared insolvency. Natland has now sold a minority share of Company New to the Simona and Milan Polak, the owners of another Czech online retail project named Different. Milan Polak has also been named Zoot’s new director, replacing Lukáš Uhl who will continue on as CFO. Different was set up by the Polaks in Pilsen in 2008 and has since expanded to nine countries, but unlike Zoot, it’s produced consistent profits with turnover in the “hundreds of millions of koruna”. Part of the deal that’s just been announced is that Company New has also taken a share in Different.
