Saipem to build gas pipeline under Baltic Sea

11 May 2020

Italian company Saipem signed a deal worth €280m to build a gas pipeline under the Baltic Sea. The project will be constructed to link gas fields on the Norwegian shelf in the North Sea to Niechorze-Pogorzelica along the northern Polish coast. The pipeline will help reduce carbon dioxide emissions and improve air quality in Poland. The pipeline is scheduled to be launched in October 2022.
