The wholesaler Metro Germany will be opening its 18 stores in the North Rhine-Westphalia region to all consumers as of May 3. The stores are currently accessible only to professional buyers on a wholesale basis, but as of May 3, their doors will be open to all residents, including those who don’t have Metro cards. Strict hygienic rules will have to be followed by all customers. The company’s stores range in size from 7,000 sqm to 16,000 but it operates a smaller food-focused store called Metro Gastro.
