Company that have had to close up shop will be allowed to demand that their rental payments for the period between March 12 and June 30 be deferred. The bill passed by parliament on Wednesday gives them until the end of the year to pay back the difference. That’s a considerably shorter time period than the government had pushed for when it proposed giving companies until March 2022 to make up the missing rent, however deputy prime minister Karel Havlíček agreed to support the change. Tenants will still have to pay regular services charges on time, however, as deputies argued that landlords wouldn’t be allowed to defer such payments.
