XLCEE Holding, the owner of the XXX Lutz chain, has been cleared to take over the Kika network of stores by the Czech anti-monopoly office on the condition that it sells off part of the company. XLCEE-Holding also owns the Mobelix stores, a fact which set off alarm bells with the anti-monopoly office (UOHS). The ruling surprised the Czech Furniture Association boss Tomáš Lukeš. “I don’t know what data the office based its decision on,” he said. He said the furniture market is changing as new players are appearing, selling cheaper goods on-line.XLCEE-Holding already controls the Kika network in Hungary, Slovakia and in Romania.
