The retailer Electro World turned in profits of CZK 30m for its 2018 financial year that ended in March. It marked the company’s best result since 2008 and marked a return from losses the year before. Lidové noviny writes that the electronic retailer’s profits rose 14 percent to CZK 3.7bn, with online sales providing the biggest percentage of growth. Increased sales made up for the fact that its sales margin didn’t increase, unlike wages, which grew 6 percent thanks to the tight supply of labor on the Czech market. The company employed 682 people at the end of its financial year in a total of 19 stores in the Czech Republic, having entered the country in 2002 through an investment by the British company Dixons.
