The Hungarian state owned power company MVM has begun construction on a new solar park in western Hungary. The project is being completed on a 2.4ha plot of land in the municipality of Kisber and is expected to begin producing power by the end of the year. It’s part of a larger scheme to build over 20 solar plants in the region that will have an annual capacity of 13.2 GWh requiring an investment of HUF 6bn. The European Union will be paying for up to one-third of the costs.
