Footshop to open in central Prague in 2019

17 December 2018

Hospodářské noviny carries an interview with Peter Hajduček, the founder of an expanding footwear chain called Footshop. The company recently opened a new store in the trendy Vnitroblock space in Prague 7 but Hajduček says he spent the past year looking for a location in the center of Prague. “Vnitroblock works well for us but in the center we could approach new people. In Vnitroblock we have to be part of the whole place and adapt to its program and its activities. In our own space we can plan our activities with greater freedom. We signed a contract on the corner of Nekázanky and Na Příkopě.” Hajduček says the company had turnover of more than CZK 200m in 2016 and that this has increased by CZK 200m in 2017 and 2018. Speaking about Footshop’s new store in Budapest he said the store is doing well, though he hinted it wasn’t excessively profitable. “But if we calculate direct sales in the store, personal pickups in the store and the increased volume in limited editions and the growth of brand awareness, it’s good.” Hajduček says the company expects to open a new store in Bucharest next year.
