IKEA’s Wenceslas Square store opens Thursday

19 September 2018

IKEA’s newest store in Prague opens on Thursday, but it’s not a massive, edge of center, warehouse-like building that takes hours to walk through. Instead, IKEA spent CZK 17m creating an 800 sqm pop-up store on Wenceslas square that will focus on presenting its range of bedroom. “It’s a new way to get closer to our customers,” says Mounia El Hilali, who has been director of IKEA in the Czech Republic since Sept 1. The store will take 30 employees to run, most of whom have until now been employed in the company’s other Czech stores. Along with examples of bedrooms, the store will offer a planning studio where customers can consult with interior designer.
