IKEA’s delays pop-up store opening on Wenceslas Square

13 August 2018

E15.cz reports that IKEA has delayed the opening of a pop-up studio that it had planned to open on the lower half of Wenceslas Square. The company’s strategy is to create a way for customers who don’t have time to travel to the edge of Prague where IKEA’s two stores are to be able to see at least some of its offerings. Construction work on the studio is still underway, with the Swedish retailer reportedly investing CZK 15m into the temporary store located in the old Česká spořitelna building. “We’re all really looking forward to the opening but we were too ambitious in our estimates on how long it would take to get all the work done,” said IKEA’s spokeswoman Zdenka Pecková. She said the store should open by the middle of September.
