Lidl opened a logistics center in Nova Pazova, near Belgrade. The LEED Gold investment is valued at €55m. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Tomislav Spina, director of Lidl Serbia, attended the opening ceremony. The new 45,000 sqm center features 30,000 pallet spaces and 120 loading ramps as well as five temperature zones and chambers to keep products fresh. There are currently 180 people employed at the site. The German discount retailer is planning to open 16 stores around Serbia by the end of this year and employ about 1,500 people.
