French sporting goods retailer Decathlon will make its debut on the Serbian market, with the opening of a store in Belgrade next summer. Construction will break ground at the beginning of 2019. The investment value was not disclosed. The company is already planning to open more stores in the capital city. Decathlon is following Ikea and Hilton’s lead. Both companies opened locations in Belgrade in 2017, according to Mayor Sinisa Mali. Decathlon already operates in Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia and Croatia.
