Czech exports rose 5.7 percent in 2017 to CZK 4.2 trillion (€166bn) in 2017, with the value of shipments to China and Germany jumping 20 and 7.3 percent respectively. The European Union is by far the country’s biggest trading partner, with more than 83 percent remaining within the EU. Exports to Germany made up 32.8 percent (CZK 1.38T) of the total according to CTK. Economists warn that the Czech manufacturers are operating at full capacity and are no longer able to keep up with the pace of orders. Automobile exports now make up 28 percent of the total value, an enormous increase since 2011 when the figure was just 20 percent.
