Shopping City Ploiești is set to unveil a 7,400 square meter expansion on September 26, 2024, introducing 26 new retail spaces, including several international brands making their debut in the region. The shopping center’s expansion also features revamped store concepts, offering a modern and diverse shopping experience for its visitors.
Accompanying the new commercial spaces is the opening of a three-level, above-ground parking garage with 500 spaces, enhancing the center’s accessibility. The redevelopment marks a major upgrade for the shopping hub, solidifying its reputation as the largest and most modern shopping center in the region—a place where shopping, leisure, and urban socializing come together.
“Shopping City Ploiești offers even more reasons for our customers to visit. We are introducing new retailers and modernized store concepts, including renowned international brands making their first appearance in Ploiești. Along with new stores, we’re increasing interactive experiences such as live concerts and innovative design and service concepts,” said representatives of NEPI Rockcastle, the group that owns Shopping City Ploiești.
Among the new entrants is Lefties, part of the Inditex group, known for its affordable clothing for all ages, which is opening its first store in Ploiești. Other first-time stores include Bookcity, the center’s first bookstore; AVON; Hermosa; SMYK All for Kids; Raiffeisen Bank; and an innovative new Dr. Max hyperpharmacy, with more brands to be announced.
In addition, several existing stores will reopen in expanded spaces with updated concepts, offering new shopping experiences, special promotions, and exclusive offers.
To celebrate the expansion, Shopping City Ploiești will host a special edition of the SPOT Festival on September 26. The festival, known as the longest unofficial music event in the region, will take place in the shopping center’s parking lot. The evening will feature live performances from popular bands Șuie Paparude and Carla’s Dreams, with ALEXIS on band setting the stage. The event is free for visitors with a SPOT user account, and wristbands can be collected at the Info Point or from SPOT FESTIVAL promoters until the day of the event.
