Penta Investments, through it’s Dr. Max pharmacy chain, is taking over A&D Pharma Group in a bid to become the biggest operator in Romania. The acquisition will add 600 locations to Dr. Max’s Romanian network, which currently includes 31 outlets. A&D owns the Sensiblu and Punkt pharmacy networks and Mediplus Exim wholesaler. The Competition Council still needs to greenlight the deal. The price was not disclosed, but some local media outlets are reporting the takeover is valued at between €300m and €400m.
