Hungarian retail sales grow 4.7% in August

Retail sales in Hungary grew by 4.7 percent y-o-y in August 2017, according to the latest data from Central Statistical Office (KSH). The volume of sales, adjusted for calendar effects, increase by 2.9 percent in specialized and non-specialized food shops, by 7.9 percent in non-food retail shops and by 2.6 percent in automotive fuel retail. Between January and August, the volume of sales, based on KSH’s calendar-adjusted data, was 4.0 percent higher than the previous year.
