AFI Europe plans to open a new shopping center in Bucharest within the next 18 months. The opening will coincide with the completion of a new metro station in the capital’s Bucurestii Noi neighborhood, Israel Vizela, manager of AFI Palace Malls told dailybusiness.ro. AFI Europe secured a building permit for the project in May 2013.
AFI is also developing a retail project in the city of Arad. Operating income from AFI Palace Cotroceni hit €28.7m in 2013, a 6.5-percent increase compared to 2012.
