AFI Europe signed a preliminary agreement to purchase land owned by the retailer Cora near the Brasov Civic Center. AFI intends to build a mall on the land.
Cora Romania purchased the 40,000 sqm plot in 2010 and planned to invest €70m to develop a new its shopping mall project.
AFI Europe currently operates two shopping centers in Romania: AFI Palace Bucharest, opened in late 2009, and AFI Palace Ploiesti, opened in 2013. It is planning to develop a new project in Bucharest’s Bucurestii Noi district.
