The Hungarian food store chain, Coop and the financial institution Granit Bank have signed a strategic agreement aimed at strengthening their cooperation. In a unique arrangement, both are to acquire ownership in the other’s company, in a transaction valued HUF 100 mn. The idea is for them to offer a variety of banking services to customers together. Eva Hegedüs, CEO and Vice president of Granit Bank said that on the basis of the agreement, signed on Wednesday, the bank’s service will be widely available in the Coop network for the customers, employees and suppliers. Granit Bank may offer retail and corporate account management and different services to Coop.
