Aldi Sud opens store in Frankfurt hospital for front line workers

14 April 2020

The Aldi Sud grocery store chain has opened a special store directly within the Frankfurt university hospital for use by its 6,000 employees. Along with essentials such as eggs, pasta, milk and (of course) toilet paper, employees will be able to pick up ready-made snacks such as wraps and salads. The mini-Aldi was opened in a former cafeterial of the clinic which takes up just 500 sqm. Aldi Sud’s head of branch development Thorsten Pufe said the idea was to help front line workers make their lives a bit easier. The store is opened 6 days per week, from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. and is expected to be operational until June 30.
