Shopping on marketplace platforms is chosen by 70% of Poles; easy navigation and efficient ordering are among the top priorities when shopping online, according to a study prepared by SW Research on behalf of Allegro.
Online shopping is no longer a trend, but an indispensable part of our everyday life. More than 70% of Poles regularly buy online, and as many as 93% at least once every few months. Allegro alone enjoys the interest of as many as 14.6 million active buyers in the Polish market, according to the report.
When it comes to online shopping, we very often look for ways to make our everyday life easier and save time and resources, the material indicated.
When we need to order several items from different categories, as many as 7 out of 10 people choose to shop on marketplace-type platforms, which offer a wide selection of different products. Allegro, as the e-commerce leader in Poland, provides access to almost 500 million offers from thousands of sellers. As indicated by the respondents, the main reasons for such a choice are: the ability to avoid paying multiple times for delivery (63%), time savings compared to shopping in different shops (44%) and convenience resulting from not having to place separate orders (37%), it was reported.
When evaluating marketplace platforms against other industry shops, respondents particularly appreciate attractive product prices (66%), fast delivery (62%), numerous promotions and discounts (60%), convenient payment methods (60%) and a secure transaction process (53%). 85% of consumers are attracted to online shopping by the ease of navigation on the shop’s website, and for 84%, efficient selection and ordering is a priority. As the survey shows, the option of free shipping is also not insignificant – almost two-thirds of consumers prefer to shop at shops offering free delivery, even at the expense of a higher product price, according to the report.
What about when one product is available in several shops at the same price? It is the cost of delivery that is decisive (27% of indications in first place), followed by secure payment methods (15%) and a convenient transaction process (12%). In all these areas, Allegro is leading the way, setting new standards in the market with programmes such as Allegro Smart!, Best Price Guarantee or Allegro Protect. These help consumers find exactly what they are looking for – and at the best prices. More than 200 million listings have the Smart! label, and almost 600,000 have the Best Price Guarantee label, it was reported.
The material also informed about Allegro Days, which takes place from 5-11 August. It is a cyclically organised promotional action, during which discounts reach up to 40%.
The study ‘Participation and interest in loyalty programmes’ was carried out by SW Research on behalf of Allegro. A 1000 questionnaires were conducted with a representative sample of Polish women and men, in the form of online interviews (CAWI). The survey was carried out between 10-14 April 2024.
