Allegro launches its English-language service, enabling EU customers and sellers to access one of the ten largest e-commerce sites in the world, the company announced.
Customers will now be able to search and buy goods on Allegro in English and pay in euros, and Allegro, through its partners, will help sellers handle both international deliveries and payments, it said.
“International expansion is one of our priorities and, as the most visited e-commerce platform in Poland, we are taking another big step in this direction,” said Allegro president Francois Nuyts.
“While work is underway on the planned integration with the Mall Group, we are strengthening the second pillar of our presence in Europe, expanding access to millions of offers on our platform for EU customers and sellers. European consumers will benefit from Allegro from a wide selection of products at great prices and on convenient deliveries, and sellers gain the opportunity to expand the group of potential customers in this way,” he added.
Allegro will take care of the translation of the offers and provide the necessary support for both parties to the transaction, including before, during and after the purchase. Customers can use international settings on allegro.pl, and soon a website in the allegro.com domain will be launched, especially for international offers.
Allegro is the number 1 trading platform in Poland. Sales are mainly carried out by companies via the e-commerce platform Allegro.pl. The value of products sold (GMV) on the group’s platform accounted for approx. 3% of the retail market in Poland in 2019. The Allegro.pl platform enables the sale of new products primarily to companies operating in the business-customer formula and attracts an average of 21 million internet users per month, which it corresponds to 66% of Polish citizens aged 16 or more and 78% of all internet users in Poland. From October 2016, Allegro belongs to the funds of Cinven, Permira and Mid Europa. The company made its debut on the WSE in October 2020.
