Allegro wants to increase its capex to PLN 560-600 million in 2021 and will help develop exports

Allegro’s investment outlays this year are expected to reach PLN 560-600 million against PLN 230 million in 2020, the company said. The investment plans include developing export sales opportunities for Polish entrepreneurs.

The expected increase in investment outlays will result mainly from the further development of the platform and its functionalities after the surge in business growth in 2020 and investments in new logistics solutions aimed at further improvement of the parcel delivery process, including the development of the Allegro Fulfillment service or the pilot of a network of own parcel machines, given.

“We will introduce new innovations and improve every element of the shopping path, so that shopping on Allegro will be even easier and more convenient. Modern technology, artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions will help us in this. In February, we launched Allegro Biznes – a solution that streamlines corporate purchases. Our plans for this year also include developing export sales opportunities for Polish entrepreneurs, said Allegro president Francois Nuyts, quoted in the release.

Allegro is the number 1 trading platform in Poland. Sales are mainly carried out by companies via the Allegro.pl marketplace e-commerce platform. The value of products sold (GMV) on the group’s platform accounted for approx. 3% of the retail market in Poland in 2019. Since October 2016, Allegro belongs to the funds of Cinven, Permira and Mid Europa. The company made its debut on the WSE in October 2020.
