Alza.cz opens third automated electronics store

2 November 2018

Alza.cz opened a third ‘store of the future’, which is what the electronic online retailer calls its new outlets that require no staffing. This latest ‘store’ isn’t just located near a metro station – it’s in the B-line vestibule of the Mustek station in downtown Prague. Alza.cz seems to be targeting people who go on-line shopping at work to make it easier for them to pick up their goods on the way home. But it’s also possible to use digital terminals in the store to choose, pay for and pick up products on the spot. Alza.cz expects to supply the store once a day, in the evening, though it hopes to increase the frequency in future. The company has sold CZK 45m worth of product at its first ‘store of the future’ opened at the Flora metro station in January.
