The store of the future Alza.cz unveiled in January has exceeded the company’s expectations. Located kn Prague 2 near the Flora shopping center, the store is fully automatic, needing no sales staff on-site while offering assistance and expert advice through video screens with trained operators. In the first three months of its existence, the store produced sales of CZK 12.8m and handles around 250 orders daily. The peak hours for visitors are between 4pm and 6pm and the most common purchases are mobile telephones along with sports equipment and electronics. Based on these results, Alza will be opening a second, improved store over the summer near the Budějovická metro station in Prague 4.
