Amazon starts testing Czech market with free delivery on orders of €39 or more. Czech e-shoppers, however, have to order via the company’s German or UK websites, as a Czech version has not yet been created. Amazon only has a Polish site in the CEE region. The distribution center in Dobrovíz on the western outskirts of Prague will serve as a pick-up point. For now, Amazon will not be able to compete with Czech e-shops, because it does not currently have any plans to launch an advertising campaign in the Czech Republic, writes Hospodářské noviny. Prices will be competitive, because Amazon uses a different exchange rate than the Czech central bank and charges a special fee for “fast delivery.” Free delivery takes two or three weeks.
