AmRest had EUR 32.9 million in net profit, EUR 359.1 million in EBITDA in 2021.

AmRest recorded EUR 32.9 million of consolidated net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company in 2021 compared to a loss of EUR 182 million a year earlier, the company said in its report.

The operating profit was EUR 103.1mn vs. EUR 142.5mn loss a year earlier. The EBITDA result amounted to EUR 359.1 million compared with EUR 201.7 million a year earlier.

Consolidated sales revenues amounted to EUR 1,917 million in 2021 compared to EUR 1,522.9 million a year earlier.

The AmRest Group, a leading multibrand operator of franchise restaurants in Europe with a portfolio of global brands, operating in 25 countries, closed the financial year with consolidated revenues at the level of EUR 1,917 million. Compared to the consolidated revenues in 2020 (EUR 1,522 million), in the period particularly affected by the pandemic, the company exceeded this result by 25.9%. The group’s growth was accompanied by a larger number of operating restaurants, as well as the reopening of the dine-in channel as a result of easing restrictions in most countries where AmRest operates its premises 99% of the group’s restaurants, according to its results.

In the fourth quarter of 2021 alone, revenues amounted to EUR 539 million, i.e. 35.6% more y / y with an increase in the same-store sales ratio by 30.7%. This is the highest quarterly revenue volume in the group’s history at the end of the year, the report highlights.

“2021 was a year full of challenges for the restaurant industry around the world. Despite this, AmRest continued its upward trend in its main regions, exceeding the level of sales from before the pandemic. Moreover, the company opened 147 new premises. The results achieved demonstrate the success of our company’s business model based on strong position in the home delivery sector, continuous development of digital tools and exceptional service. Our priority is profitable and sustainable growth and AmRest will continue to focus on business development, both by opening own and franchised premises,” said AmRest CEO Luis Comas.

In 2021, the company opened 147 new restaurants, well above the target of 130 openings at the beginning of the year. In total, the number of restaurants in the Group’s portfolio amounted to 2,436 at the end of the year.

All the main regions in which AmRest operates recorded an upward trend in 2021. Central and Eastern Europe showed the greatest improvement, with sales of EUR 873.1 million, representing 45.5% of the group’s sales and an increase of 27.4 % y / y. In the case of the Western Europe division, revenues in 2021 amounted to EUR 720.9 million and were 23.7% higher than in 2020. The Russian segment generated revenues of EUR 185.2 million in 2021, a jump of 21.5% compared to the same period in 2020; while in China, sales generated during the year for the first time exceeded EUR 100 million (EUR 100.2 million) with an increase of 31.1% y / y.
