Ranked as one of 10 richest Poles, Antoni Ptak acquired a stake in the troubled Maximus retail center in Nadarzyn, near Warsaw. Ptak bought two out of the center’s six halls, totaling 40,000 sqm of space. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
The investor said the acquisition is the first step toward developing his Warsaw Expo outlet project. This will be his second outlet scheme on the Polish market over the last few years, following the completion of Plat Expo in Łódź. The tenant list for the scheme includes nearly 3,000 names, making it one of the biggest investments in Europe. Market insiders say that Ptak is prepared to make more investments on the Polish real estate market in the medium-term.
