The Czechia is heading to open stores no later than May 3. Health Minister Petr Arenberger (for YES) told CNN Prima News. The government will discuss dismantling anti-epidemic measures on Thursday. According to Arenberger, the Ministry of Health is currently also preparing a dismantling plan for the first half of May, which already has the basic outlines.
Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček (for YES) said that the government will decide on Thursday on the dismantling of trade and services on Tuesday. But he did not say a possible date for the opening of stores.
“We are all working to make it possible to consider opening stores by May 3 at the latest by the end of April,” Arenberger said today. He did not specify whether they would be able to open all the shops or just some. He only added that the measure is still under development and the main points should be discussed by the government on Thursday.
According to Arenberger, the Ministry of Health is also preparing a dismantling plan for the first half of May. “It already has basic outlines in terms of each category,” he told CNN Prima News today. However, he intends to publish more information when there is consensus.
The government last allowed the operation of shops and services for about three weeks in December. After Christmas, however, most stores could not open due to a bad epidemic situation. Now only selected shops such as groceries, drugstores, pharmacies and services such as dry cleaners, locksmiths or car services can be opened.
Due to the easing of the coronavirus epidemic, the government agreed to return other students to school. From Monday, April 26, practical teaching will be resumed in secondary schools and in the last years of universities. At the same time, kindergartens will be completely opened in regions where the weekly increase in new cases of covid-19 is below 100 per 100,000 inhabitants. Currently, these are the Karlovy Vary and Hradec Králové regions, according to Tuesday’s statement by Minister Arenberger (for YES), the Pilsen region could be added to them.
