Argus Capital targets Polomarket take over

The Jersey-based Argus Capital is preparing to splash out €263m on the Polish retail property sector. The former owner of the Aster cable TV network, Argus has already applied to the Polish Antimonopoly Office to approve the acquisition of Polomarket-Detal, the subsidiary of the Polomarket chain, which operates 350 stores across Poland. Argus will have been tempted by the high earnings Polomarket-Detal is producing that gives as much as 40 percent of the company’s total profits in 2010 (PLN 32m).
